Friday Spotlight: Storm Moon Press

Wild Moon Books

When Storm Moon Press was first founded, K. Piet and I were primarily writing gay erotic fiction. It was what we loved to write, what saw ourselves always writing, and so we made GLBT fiction Storm Moon Press' primary focus. However, as we began to plot and plan future novels, to develop characters and storylines, we discovered that we also really enjoyed writing more mainstream erotic romances. Storm Moon Press wasn't the right venue for this work, and so we chose to create an imprint for the press and open it up to other mainstream authors.

Wild Moon Books has been on the back burner for the last six months as we focused on Storm Moon Press, but with our two year anniversary approaching, we decided it was time to unveil the imprint. It officially launches in January of 2012, and we have a handful of anthology calls out and ready for authors to submit to. We're also eagerly looking for novella and novel submissions of all shapes and sizes, so we hope authors will give Wild Moon Books a look and like what they see.

We're one of the first micro-presses to offer a flip-point for royalties, a point at which the author moves from our base royalty to a higher one, and that point is well defined in our contracts and author packets. It was a structure we put into place for Storm Moon Press about a year or so ago, and it's been quite successful for both our authors and the press, and so we decided to keep that with the creation of Wild Moon Books.

Wild Moon Books focuses on mainstream erotic romances, romances, and erotica in all genres and lengths. We're actively seeking short story submissions for our anthologies (which include I Married An Alien, By Gaslight, and Upon a Blood Red Sky in 2012) and novella (20K-49K words) and novel (50K-100K words) submissions in all genres (especially fantasy, science fiction, contemporary, paranormal, steampunk, and historical).

It's a new venture, but one Storm Moon Press is looking forward to. Storm Moon Press' goal will always be to publish quality GLBT erotic romance and erotica, but there is room for Wild Moon Books, and we hope authors and readers enjoy what they see and give us a chance!
