Did anyone else wish to be whisked away to another planet or dimension or even another country just to get away from their life? I know I can’t be the only one.
Now that I’ve started writing and building fantasy worlds as a way to pass the time, the inclination doesn’t come over me as much as it did in the past. When I was a kid (middle and high school), things were totally different. I was hoping for an alien invasion or a prince from a far off land to come and spirit me away to a far off place where everything went my way.
That didn’t happen. Obviously. Or did it? Tee hee. Okay it didn’t, so I had to settle on the next best thing -- writing a book where it happened to the heroine. Thus my debut novel was born and I introduced ADRIENNE to the world.
ADRIENNE took everything I wanted at the time and dumped it into one book. A handsome king swooping in to save the heroine from dastardly men and then whisking her away to his kingdom (in another dimension) where she’ll rule by his side as a queen.
Ah… a fairy tale come true. And then the dark side of my imagination got a hold of the plot. Malik may have saved Adrienne from being attacked and whisked her away to his kingdom but she sees it as kidnapping and imprisonment. It’s not like she can try to escape since they are in a totally different dimension on an alternate Earth. And she has to get married to a man she just met.
If that wasn’t bad enough, being his queen means people will be trying to assassinate her at every turn so she can’t give birth to Malik’s heir. On top of all that, she has inherited magical powers she doesn’t know how to control. All Adrienne wants to do is go back to her mundane life where things made sense. It’s up to Malik to convince her that staying is what she really wants.

(Bron Universe Novel)
Fantasy Mainstream Romance, Interracial
He crossed dimensions to claim her as his queen -- but her reign may destroy his world.
Adrienne Backett wants two simple little things this spring break: rest and relaxation. After nearly four years of slaving away for her college education, she deserves a holiday. What she gets is pulled into another dimension by a man who claims she’s his rightful queen.
Malik, King of Ulan, has until his birthday to find his bride or he must forfeit his throne. When a spell reveals her location, he will do anything, even cross dimensions, to claim her as his own.
As if fending off a lusty king isn’t enough of a headache, Adrienne finds herself a pawn in a rival monarch’s plot to bring Malik’s world to its knees. But is the real danger being stuck in the middle of a power struggle between rival kingdoms? Or the damage Malik could do to her heart?
